Warhammer -
So after ordering some Warhammer Fantasy from the UK, it still hasn't arrived after 3 weeks. I've painted Wulfrik the Wanderer and Festus the Leechlord which I bought from a lgs. Whilst waiting I decided to get some 40k to paint instead. As you might have guessed I'm collecting a Chaos Warriors army. It was a tough choice between WoC and Dark Elves, both have a few amazing models but neither were much more beautiful than the other. I ended up going with WoC since I have always loved CSM as a kid but never had enough money to get into the hobby.
I'll post up some pictures of Wulfrik and Festus. They are particularly good but they are my 4th/5th figurine after 3 warriors from one of those tester packs.
Warhammer 40k -
What to get? Imperial Guard Deth Korpz look great, Chaos Space Marines look fantastic, Tau seem okay, Blood Angels look very cool, Black Templars have a good scheme, Dark Angels have a very nice Green and White colour scheme going on. Dark Eldar and CW Eldar to an extent, Death guard, Death wing, Raven wing, all look amazing. Whilst contemplating all this, I figured i didn't want to play space marines since they are pretty over saturated and their play style seemed too forgiving. Imperial Guard Death Korps has the most amazing models from FW which got me really considering them for some time.
I can't quite remember what it was, but I ended up going with Dark Eldar : D It might of been the tactics (quite different from the WoC in your face style of play) or just the sleekness of DE that lured me in, but the more I find out about DE the happier I am that i chose them.
I've bought a box of Wracks, a Venom, Kabalite Warriors and a box of Wyches.
They'll be called Kabal of the Northern Skies. Here i've got my Wyches and Kabalites primed.
Doing some research, I was initially going for Last Hatred tutorial painting style by awesomepaintjob.com on youtube. But doing some more research I've decided to go with Mechanicum Jon's - Kabal of the Downed Gardens theme. Rather than going for Bronze and quite a green Verdigris, I've opted for a brighter Copper with a rather blue Patina to match.
Can't wait to see the end result!
