Inspiration (pics up)

After going away and fishing, crabbing, collecting sea snails and squidding for 9 days, I've come back to my Warhammer with an original idea. The colour scheme isn't original and i'm sure someone has done it before already BUT i'm going with

Steampunk Dark Eldar

Paint Schemes involve -

White Leather - Tau Ochre Light into Pallyd Wych Flesh into White Scar
Light Leather - Mournfang Brown > Ogryn Flesh
Mid Leadther - XV-88 > Tau Ochre Light
Dark Leather - Rhinox Hide > Mournfang Brown

Black - Black > German Grey or Dark Grey /w Leadbelcher/Runefang Steel edge High lights
Copper - Runelord Brass > Copper XF-6 (Tamiya)

I general Basecoat and then Wash. For Copper I am using Drakenhoff Nightshade to darken and Agrax Earthshade for the Leather Parts.

I use a simple Layering Technique where for example I wanted to make Light Leather Colour, I would start with Mournfang Brown 95% Ogryn Flesh 5% for the base layer and then keep upping the % mix of Ogryn Flesh until it is 5% MFB and 95% OF. I may add some White into the mix if I want something lighter.

Highlighting - I go for edge highlighting using the side of my brush. I also enjoy dry brushing things like Hair.

I'm not quite sure what hair colour to go for just yet. I'm thinking Victorian era Jennifer Connelly Brown to Asian Black hair. That would be ideal, but it seems a tad monotnous to have leather with brown hair. Maybe Orange/Red, or Purple. I'll have to have a play with it.

As I am typing this, my Wyches/Warriors are in a plastic container soaking in Magic Amah kitchen detergent (i'm in Taiwan ATM), most of the paint has come off already and i shall scrub the rest off soon enough.

Edit: Below I added a picture of the washed figures drying infront of the fan.

Pics - Base coated with Hull Red XF-9
(Tamiya) and weapons painted black. Beautiful Hull Red is the colour of rust. When on it's own though it looks like Cocoa powder with it's red tinge and the units look like chocolates
 Next is the Leather parts.

Hello Kitty - Warhammer Historian, examines the painting progress.

Here I add the Ungor Flesh to give a light leather appearance.
Here I've added Warplock Bronze to all the armour areas and some of the weapon areas. Now they look like artisan chocolates with the dark Bronze and the White chocolate parts. I'm thinking maybe chocolate should of been my theme -_-.

Some crabs. The big one was very delicious. My cousin caught it on our trip.
