New Air Brush Compressor coming

So after having just an air compressor, i was starting to find i needed more. there were water splatters, the pressure couldn't be adjusted, the compressor got too hot for my liking.
I decided to get a tank, a water trap, pressure gauge and a pressure adjustor (i think) and i will be picking up the unit tomorrow. coming in at about 220AUD it's not too bad at all i think.

Anyway got all my mold lines done so good timing! Will let you know how it goes.

2 raiders
1 ravager
1 kabalite warriors
2 venoms
1 razorwing

all the bits and parts mold lined! took a long time but hey, time for some practice painting!

Practice Figurines

sure - it's a hobby, but still there are people like me who are perfectionists. not just perfectionists, but self-torturing perfectionists. but quantity of practice is needed before quality. is there some way to paint more, or force yourself to paint more? here's how i'm going to do it!

1. buy a pack of units - what ever will do, no need to fuss. 10 people.

2. have them all ready and laid out. get a stop watch and put an hour on the clock.

then START! the goal is to finish the 10 people in an hour. don't worry about neatness and perfection. the goal is to get it done ASAP. maybe even have some fun rather than agonize over it. the question becomes - what unit to buy?

Space marines? Chaos Space Marines? DE Warriors? Dark Elf Warriors? High Elf Spearmen? I'll figure it out.

UPDATE -

Still removing mold lines, down to the bits now. here is all that is left to do.

How to get Blasters for cheap

As you might know from my mold line removing post yesterday. i decided to remove the mold lines for my models and it has been a real grind.

i have my box of warriors, then all the bits from 2warriors/wyches/raiders/venoms, 1 ravager, 1 razorwing and 1 box of wracks to go and then i'm done.

For my warriors I wanted to see the number of Blasters I could convert from one box. Here are some of the tricks i used.

1 - shredder - trim off the ends and saw the end off a bit. then get a round spear from the venom or some other kit, put it above a lighter then pull gently till you get a thinner tube of plastic. then cut it and glue it on the end of your sawn off shredder
2 - blast pistols - cut the end off, saw a spare splinter rifle (measure the length from the real blaster) and glue the blast pistol end onto the sawn off splinter rifle.
3 - dark lance - saw off the end and the scope and it's a blaster. i wouldn't recommend this though. DL's are beautiful weapons.
4 - energy packs - if you have a box of raiders or some spare splinter rifles, you can carve out the power pack from the rifle and stick it onto the end of another sawn off splinter rifle.
5 - if you have spare arms, a good way to use them up is to cut out the forearm section of the arm and stick them onto ends of sawn off splinter rifles.

the last 2 methods will have you arming all your warriors with blasters... especially if you have some spare raider/venom bits laying around.

Final stretch.............. Anyone know any decent clips or time killers on the net??
